Indigenous women in the United States hold a strong presence in their families and communities as economic providers; however, their participation in the contemporary workforce has received limited scholarly attention. To address this understudied area, this dissertation provides a comprehensive analysis of Indigenous women in today's workforce. Using a mixed-methods approach grounded in Indigenous research methodologies and the CARE principles, this study includes: a nationwide survey of 410 Indigenous women, in-depth interviews examining mentorship, allyship, and workplace microaggressions, and administrative data analysis on economic mobility.
