Emory Sekaquaptewa (December 28, 1928 – December 14, 2007) was an anthropologist, artist, Hopi Court judge, and a University professor. He was affiliated with the University of Arizona since 1972 and was Acting Director of American Indian Studies from 1987-1988. Professor Sekaquaptewa’s scholarly focus had been on the development of a comprehensive dictionary of the Hopi language. The project has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and is in press at the University of Arizona. He also has several Clear Light Publishers stories.
