Robert A. Hershey

Robert A. Hershey, an attorney who specialized in indigenous human rights, held an Adjunct Professor of Law position with a joint appointment in AIS. He was also Director of the Tribal Law Clinic. Professor Hershey's most recent scholarly work focused on economic development in Indian country, the mechanics of criminal law in tribal courts and intellectual property rights. His next writing focused on Imagery and American Indian Policy and the promotion of intercultural relations with tribes in Arizona. He took a leadership role in AIS for developing the graduate student required internship program. Professor Hershey chaired that committee and was active in all other AIS service roles. His extensive seminars and consultant roles with Indian tribes and communities provided professional relationships resulting in placements for both law and AIS students in the Tribal Law Clinic.
