American Indian Studies 2025 Graduation

On May 14th, 2025, American Indian Studies held its first graduation ceremony since before Covid. It was held in the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona.

During the event, there were speeches by the Interim Head of AIS, the Assistant Vice Provost for Native American Initiatives, and the Vice Provost & Dean of Graduate Education. The blessing was done by Mr. Miguel Flores, Family & Community Medicine. AIS also had the honor of listening to Panther Creek Singers Drum Group at the event.

The department recognized Dr. Ronald Trosper regarding his retirement shortly after the event.

Alongside all of the remarks and recognitions, the department graduated 11 AIS minors, 4 AIS B.A. graduates, and 8 AIS Ph.D. Graduates.
