Yá’át’ééh. Dr. Aresta Tsosie-Paddock is a citizen of the Navajo Nation whose clans are Naakai Dine'é/To’aheedliinii (Journeying People/Water Flows Together clan) born for Bįįh'bitoo’nii (Deer Springs clan), maternal grandfathers are Tl'ízí łání (Many Goats clan) and paternal grandfathers are Kinyaa'áanii (Towering House clan). She is originally from Sand Springs, Arizona. She is a proficient speaker of Diné Bizaad (Navajo language).

Her research and teaching areas of emphasis are forced displacement from land and dispossession of cultural heritage, pedagogy and reclamation of Diné and native languages, Native women’s studies, Navajo history and philosophy, Native Nation building, Native urban studies, Tribal Government and Federal Indian law and policy. She is a Center for University Education Scholarship (CUES) Distinguished Fellow at UArizona.
